Lesson Policies for Fort Collins

These apply for lessons in Fort Collins only. See the Guitars, Etc. policies for lessons in Longmont.

Attendance

  • Lessons are normally one-on-one. If you would like to book lessons for a group, please email me.
  • Recurring weekly lessons are either one hour or one half-hour per week. Single lessons are a minimum of one hour.
  • Weekly lessons are the same day and time each week. There are a few weeks off each year. See the calendar for the current schedule.
  • If you are unable to attend a weekly lesson for any reason, please let me know as soon as possible. We can plan what you need to practice or reschedule for another time that works with both our schedules.
  • Single lessons are booked for a specific day and time. Please be sure you will be available for the lesson before booking.
  • Please do not skip lessons because you haven’t practiced. We can always review previous lessons and it’s a great opportunity to work on practice strategies.
  • If you are going to be late, please call or text me at (970) 682-4842. If you are more than 10 minutes late without notice, I may leave or start the next lesson.

Weather-Related Cancellations

  • If you feel travel conditions are unsafe, please call or text me at (970) 682-4842 so we can reschedule your lesson.
  • If Boomer Music is closed, lessons will be cancelled. I will normally cancel lessons if Fort Collins is on accident alert.
  • I’ll let you know if lessons are cancelled by 9:30am via text or email. I may also cancel lessons later in the day if the weather changes suddenly.
  • If lessons are cancelled due to weather we will reschedule if possible. If we can’t find a time that works to reschedule, I’ll credit your account $30 per half-hour for weekly lesson or refund the full amount of single lessons.
  • If you have any questions, please call or text me at (970) 682-4842.

Illness and Injury Related Cancellations

  • Pain while playing an instrument is bad. If you are in pain, stop playing immediately and see a doctor as soon as possible.
  • If you need to cancel a lesson due to illness or injury, please contact me as soon as you can so we can reschedule or plan what you should practice.
  • Please do not risk your and your fellow students’ health by coming to your lesson while you are ill. Call or text me at (970) 682-4842 and we’ll try to reschedule for when you’re well. If I believe you are contagious or are too sick to play, I will send you home immediately.
  • I will cancel lessons if I am sick. Lessons I cancel will be rescheduled as soon as possible. If we can’t find a time that works to reschedule a lesson I cancelled, I’ll credit your account $30 per half-hour for weekly lessons or refund the full amount for single lessons.
  • If you have any questions, please call or text me at (970) 682-4842.

Payment

  • Tuition for weekly lessons is $110 per month for half-hour or $220 per month for hour. Single lessons are $65 per hour.
  • There are a total of 15 weeks of lessons in each 4 month term (January through April, May through August, and September through December). Weekly lessons work out to $58.67 per hour (or $29.34 per half-hour), a savings of about 10% versus single lessons.
  • Payment for single lessons is due at the time the lesson is scheduled. Tuition for weekly lessons is due by the 1st lesson of each month. There is a $15 fee for late payments.
  • You may pay in person by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express. Online payments may be made by eCheck, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express or PayPal.
  • You can stop weekly lessons at the end of any month and there is no cancellation fee. If possible, please let me know at least two weeks before dropping lessons.
  • There are no refunds for lessons except in the case of my unscheduled absence. If I am unable to teach a scheduled lesson I will refund the full amount of the single lesson payment or $30.00 per missed half-hour for monthly lessons.
