Payment
- Payment for single lessons is due in full when the lesson is scheduled.
- Tuition for weekly lessons is invoiced on the 25th of each month for the upcoming month (e.g. September is invoiced on August 25th).
- Tuition for weekly lessons is due within 10 days of the invoice date. A $15 late fee will be added to overdue invoices.
- You will be emailed an invoice for lessons. You may pay online by card or eCheck. I also accept payment in-person by cash or check.
- You can stop weekly lessons at the end of any month and there is no cancellation fee. If possible, please let me know at least two weeks before dropping lessons.
- There are no refunds for lessons except in the case of my unscheduled absence. If I am unable to teach a lesson I will refund the full cost of that lesson.
- All sales are final.
Scheduling
- Lessons are available at my studios or online.
- I normally teach one-on-one. If you would like to book lessons for a group, please email me.
- I book in multiples of 30 minutes. I do not currently offer 45 minute lessons.
- Weekly lessons spots are always the same day and time. There are a few weeks off each year, you can check the calendar for the current schedule.
- Single lessons are booked for a specific date and time. Please be sure you will be available for the lesson before booking.
- I am in US Mountain time and Colorado observes Daylight Savings Time. We vary between UTC-7:00 and UTC-6:00 depending on the time of year. Double check with me on times if you’re booking from another time zone.
Attendance
- Please be on time.
- If you are going to be late, please call or text (970) 682-4842.
- If you are more than 10 minutes late without notice, it is considered a no-show and I may leave or start the next lesson.
- Please do not skip lessons because you haven’t practiced. We can always review and it’s a great opportunity to work on practice strategies.
- There are no refunds for lessons unless I miss a scheduled lesson and we are unable to reschedule.
Rescheduling
- Please let me know as soon as possible if you are unable to attend a lesson.
- Rescheduling is sometimes an option, depending on our schedules. If we cannot find a time that works I will send you a recorded lesson instead.
- Lessons must be rescheduled promptly. Missed lessons do not “credit forward”.
- There are no reschedules for lessons that are missed without notice.
Online
- You will receive a unique meeting code for your lessons. We’ll use the same code each week.
- The lesson meeting opens at your start time. If you sign on early, please wait nearby for me to start the meeting.
- There are no refunds for lessons except unless I have to miss a scheduled lesson.
Weather
- If you feel travel conditions are unsafe, please call or text me at (970) 682-4842. We can do an online or recorded lesson instead.
- If Boomer Music is closed, all lessons will be recorded or online. I will normally also move lessons online if Fort Collins is on accident alert.
- I’ll let you know if lessons are moved online by 10:00am via text or email. I may also make the change later in the day if the weather changes suddenly.
Illness and Injury
- Pain while playing an instrument is bad. If you experience pain while playing, stop and see a doctor as soon as possible.
- If you need to cancel due to illness or injury, please contact me as soon as you can so we can switch to a recorded or online lesson instead.
- Please do not risk your and your fellow students’ health by coming to the studio while you are ill. If I believe a student is contagious or too sick or injured to play, I will send them home immediately.
- Masks are currently not required for Boulder or Larimer counties. We can still both wear masks during your lesson if you prefer. We will also both wear masks if one of us is recovering from COVID or other airborne illness.
- If I am sick, we will switch to either an online or recorded lesson.
