A List of Two-Rock Production Models from the K&M-Era

Since I couldn’t find it elsewhere, here’s a roughly-chronological list of K&M era (pre-PBG) Two-Rock amplifiers. A lot of this info comes from this article by Joe Mloganoski.

  • K&M Amp (April 4th, 1999 to August, 2000)
    2 channels, 50 watts, reverb.
  • Emerald (October 1999 to Early 2001)

  • Sapphire (1999 to 2000)
    100W version of Emerald
  • Amethyst (1999 to ????)
2 channels, 50 watts, reverb. Similar to the Emerald with a slightly different preamp.
  • Amethyst Special (November 1999 to April 2000)
Indoor Storm model with 50 watt and a 5 watt output sections.

    Smooth HRM style

    Early Opal
  • Opal (May 2001 to 2007)
    50 watts, 2 channels, reverb
  • Topaz (July 2001 to ????)
Non NOS replacement for Emerald Pro
  • K&M Custom (Custom run from September 2001 to February 2002, Production from March 2002 to ????)
Non HRM based on Steve Kimock’s Dumble

    2 channel, 50 watt, pcb
  • Ltd (August 2004-????)
2 channel, cathode or fixed bias, accepts 6L6 6V6 or EL34
  • Custom Reverb Signature (November 2004-December 2006)
Signature variant of the Custom Reverb
  • Custom Reverb Artist (June 2005-????)
    Replaces the Custom Reverb.
  • Overdrive Signature (2006-????)
2 channels. Like a Custom Reverb with all the bells and whistles.
  • Jet (April 2006-????)
Basically a simpler, lower wattage Custom Reverb. 30 watts with 6L6 or 22 with 6v6
  • Steve Kimock Signature (December 2006-????)
    Octal preamp signature model.
  • Custom Reverb Signature V2 (December 2006-????)
An even smoother development of the CRS. The clean channel is killer on this one.
  • John Mayer Signature (March 2007-August 2007)
    100 watt clean amp.
  • Classic #1 (August 2007-????)
An update to the Custom. 2 channels, No reverb, FET, 50 or 100 watts.
  • Classic Reverb (October 2007-Present)
50W or 100W single channel with FET boost. My favorite Two-Rock.
  • Jet Signature (August 2007-????)
The Jet gets the sig treatment.
  • Classic #2 (March 2008-????)
50 or 100 watts. HRM circut similar to the Emerald Pro but without reverb.
  • Classic #3 (March 2008-????)
2 channels, 50 watts, tube rectified.
  • Custom Clean (November 2008-????)
Single channel. High and low filters. 50W, 100W, or 150W (6550) variants.
  • 10th Anniversary (January 2009-????)
2 channels with independent eq, PAF reverb. 50W with tube rectifier or 100W with solid-state rectifier.
  • 10th Anniversary J-2 (November 2009-????)
  • TS-1 (July 2010-????)
A tribute to Taku Sakashta, based on Robben Ford’s #104 amp.
  • Custom Reverb Signature V3 (July 2010-????)
Another take on the CRS, with contour instead of presence.
  • Eric Gales Signature (July 2010-????)
    2 Channels with a Marshall-esqe voicing.
  • Studio Pro (2010-????)
Single channel clean amp built in a Jet box. Pickup loading control. #1 might be the only one built prior to the announcement of PBG buying Two-Rock.

On November 24th, 2010 Two-Rock was sold to Premier Builders Guild, which ends this list.
